Saab 9-3 Advance XWD System


From the beginning of auto production Saab continues the trend to innovate technology to benefit its customers/buyers. Saab 9-3 offers the most intelligent and advance All-Wheel-Drive system of automobile industry, known as the Haldex Generation 4. This system was manufactured by Haldex AB; company base in Sweden specialize in developing All-Wheel Drive systems. Saab called it Cross Wheel Drive (XWD) system for its vehicles.  

Saab 9-3 XWD offers better handling and steadiness while driving through the sharp curves or uneven roads with a sports utility drive experience. With its shifting torque ability from front to rear axles 9-3 stays on road with better grip, even when overtaking other vehicle or ditching any object coming in way.
Saab 9-3 XWD system is consisting of four components. 1: Power Take-off Unit, 2: Pro Shaft, 3: Torque Transfer Device and 4: Rear Drive Module


When the engine start 9-3 start moving, its XWD system transmit the torque form the engine and pass it on to the Pro Shaft. Pro Shaft transfers the engine torque to the Torque Transfer Device which adjust the torque between the front and rear axles. After the torque adjustments the Rear Drive Module deliver it to rear axle.
Saab 9-3 XWD system is capable of providing driving safety, stability and increased reliability, which benefits the Saab enthusiasts with innovative and advance automotive engineering.
